Dental Restorations Can Be Completed Comfortably

Dental Restorations Using Sedation

If you are in the situation where you are worried about having your teeth worked on, we can help you to get the treatment that you need by providing you with sedation. You will be able to relax and put your feet up, unconcerned about the pending procedure.  This way you can focus on your recovery and enjoying smiling again, rather than spending your energy on trying to calm down.  In fact, one of the things we specialize in is treating patients that suffer from dental anxiety and are normally afraid of going to the dentist. With our training and our overall approach to dental care, our procedures are more comfortable and make it possible for everyone to get the care they need without irritation or anxiety.

The Types of Dental Restorations

In our dental office, we can correct a wide variety of problems you have with your teeth.  If you are in an accident and your tooth is cracked or chipped, we can restore it to perfect health using a dental bonding procedure, dental veneers or a dental crown.  All three are successful at restoring a tooth and which one you need will be determined by the intensity of the damage.  For example, if you have a slight crack, a bonding procedure or veneers can work well.  If, however, you have a major chip or break, a dental crown may be necessary for restoring your tooth because it is a cap that surrounds it and adds structural integrity from an engineering standpoint.  This makes it possible for you to bite down without worrying about the tooth feeling sensitive.  Another reason that we use crowns for dental restorations is if you have significant enamel erosion.  This is a common condition that happens due to age, the foods that you eat, a lack of dental care, brushing too aggressively, malposition of the teeth etc. While enamel erosion will not give you the appearance of a damaged tooth, but it can make your teeth sensitive none the less.  A crown can protect the tooth so that you no longer feel discomfort.
